The resource room is a classroom designed to meet the needs of the individual child. Since there is a smaller group in the room, each child is able to work with fewer distractions, get more individualized attention, and learn material in ways different than in the large classroom setting.
Here are some of the reasons that a student would be sent to the resource room:
- Completion of tests or assignments missed due to absences
- Work in a setting with fewer distractions
- Assistance and support on a specific subject matter with which a student is struggling
- Remediation to teach the student skills that they are missing
